DELUDED GIRL CLAIMING TO BE “CIRQUE DU SOLEIL” PERFORMER ON DEVIANTART.

So here’s the story…

There is a Russian Cirque du Soleil performer, Masha Silaeva, who is known for making her Cirque debut as the replacement for Elena Lev in the Manipulation/Hoops act in the show “Alegria”. Beautiful performer.

Now this girl on deviantART (santiago411) who can’t even spell her name right to begin with (spells it “Marsha” Silaeva on her profile) has taken all these photos from Official CdS sites, and even Masha’s own, personal Facebook account, and is claiming that it is her on this account. Posing, basically.

But wait…how can I come to such a drastic conclusion that this isn’t actually Masha? Here’s where she slipped up (in the most stupidest fashion):

She also claims to have performed in several Cirque du Soleil shows on her profile info…

(“We were born in cirque du soleil a show called Alegria,i have been in many cirque shows(Alegria Varekia,O,Kooza,Wintuk,KA,Mystere”)

…which is funny, since Silaeva started working for Cirque du Soleil in 2002(?) and is still happily performing in “Alegria”. Even as I write this, the arena show is currently touring Europe. I believe it is showing in Finland right now. (Lucky bastards.)

Also, NO performer can just jump from show to show like that. They sign contracts that have a minimum of 6-12 months, and even then, they must audition for a new show, and have extensive training before they are even considered to be invited into a different show. At most, a regular CdS performer will star in 2 shows (if they’re lucky) in their career, and they utilize their same specialty (The Atherton twins, for example: “Varekai” and “Iris”…Duo Aerial straps.)

(Correct me if I am wrong…but performers just don’t jump from show to show to show to show whenever they feel like it…CdS scouts are always looking for new and unique talent for their shows, and the artists train for months and months at the HQ in Montreal and…bah! whatever.)

AS FOR THE ABOVE PHOTOS (Kooza/Ka/Mystere):

She claims this is her performing in the Contortion Trio act in Kooza:

(The girls names are Dasha, Julie and Natasha- the original Contortionists from Kooza- featured on the DVD)

She claims this is her and her brother when they were in KA:

(It is actually a picture of Jennifer Haight and Cheri Haight, who are Chinese-American martial artists (sisters, actually- yes the person she claims is her “twin brother” in this picture is actually a girl) who have been performing in KA since it opened in 2005. I actually saw the show live in 2012, and saw them both perform. Love ‘em! They are also featured in the KA TV broadcast, and more recently, the movie “Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D” <— Check that shit out if you haven’t already. It’s incredible!!

Back to my point…
Masha Silaeva never performed in KA.

And her current fixation; claiming to be in “Mystere” right now, and her imaginary boyfriend is Israel Gutierrez and she is BFFs with Ross Gibson- the original performer of Mystere’s “Red Firebird”.

It’s just disconcerting to find someone who has virtually stolen a real persons identity and pose as them online, especially when they post personal (but not true) stuff like this.

Masha never “dated” Ivan Saveliev (who is a married man, btw) nor did she ever date Israel Gutierrez (let alone even meet him, considering she was never in “Mystere” to work with him).


(Hmm…ever think you can’t get into that Facebook account because, maybe, well…it isn’t yours!?)

And it’s even more disturbing to see how easily so many people are lapping that shit up and believing her.

I have reported several of her deviations (and her account) to the dA staff over the last couple of months, but no action has been taken.

So I hope this can be enough to convince you that this sad, sad person is posing as somebody she’s not, and taking credit for this performers hard work (and others, by the looks of it.)

Well…. who knows who is behind this account. Could be a 40 year old man with a creepy fixation for this performer lol….(Damn, Internet. You scary!!)

Stealing and re-posting art/photos is one thing…but stealing someones identity…yeah.  This isn’t some fictional, make believe character “RP” account…this is a REAL person you are claiming to be. Go fuck yourself with a shit encrusted chainsaw, santiago411

Actually, now that I think about it…this has happened twice before:

Back in 2008, I busted a girl on deviantART posting pictures of the Pink Flower character from “Varekai” (The “Slippery Surface” Act 2 opener) and claiming it to be her (also she claimed it was her on the DVD too). I wonder if this is the same person behind that? But then again, she was pretty consistent; just sticking to one character in one show.

And before that, another guy also claimed to be a replacement musician (Percussionist/Drummer) for “Varekai” as well. He posted on a website forum, “Cirque Tribune”, that the Varekai drummer (Paul Bannerman) was sick and had to take a break, and that he was filling in. He was boasting about how awesome it is to be in the show and how great a job he does, yadda yadda yadda. The most hilarious thing about it, was the fact that Paul Bannerman was a regular poster of that forum. He even started asking this “imposter” technical questions and just playing him for a total idiot. Ahh…good times.

Unfortunately, The “Cirque Tribune Database” has gone under and disappeared off the web for a few years. Had it still been up, I swear, this ~santiago411 imposter would have been ripped a new one a long long time ago.
